Getting started
How does the sign know I’m in a call?
Callsign reads the calendars on your iPhone. When an event starts, the sign goes up; when it ends, it says you’re free. Events marked as free in your calendar don’t count. Choose which calendars count in ⋯ › Calendars.
My sign didn’t change
- Check Callsign has calendar access in the iPhone’s Settings › Privacy & Security › Calendars.
- Make sure the calendar the event is in is switched on in ⋯ › Calendars. Google and Outlook calendars need adding to the iPhone first, in Settings › Apps › Calendar › Calendar Accounts.
- Set it by hand any time: tap the bar at the bottom of the gallery and choose Set the sign for a while….
Using it on iPhone Duo
Fold your Duo into a tent and the sign faces the room on the outer display. Fold it to 90° like a laptop and the sign stands on the top half, with the time left and call controls below. On other iPhones, stand the phone on your desk and press play to put the sign up full screen.
Callsign for Mac
Pairing
Open Callsign for Mac, then on your iPhone choose ⋯ › Pair with Mac. Both need to be on the same network.
Which call apps work?
Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet in Safari, Chrome, Arc, Edge, Brave or Firefox. Callsign for Mac needs the Accessibility permission (System Settings › Privacy & Security › Accessibility) to mute, turn the camera on or off, raise your hand or leave. Controlling calls from your phone is part of Callsign Pro.
Purchases
Restoring purchases
Callsign Pro and sign packs are one-time purchases, tied to your Apple Account. On a new phone, tap Get Pro, then Restore purchases.
Refunds
Purchases are handled by Apple. To ask for a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com.
Looking after your screen
A sign that stays up all day can mark an OLED screen. Choose a sign’s Minimal look to keep most of the screen dark, and keep the screen saver and slow drift on in Settings.
Privacy
Your calendar stays on your iPhone. Read the full privacy policy.
